A landing page is a completely custom set of products created from scratch, which occurs when a specific tag link is configured, which you can link to from any source on your website, email campaigns, social media, etc.
Landing pages can be managed within the campaign editor, within the Targeting toolbox on the Pages tab.
First, add a new campaign. Go to Merchandising\Visual Merchandising and click the "Create Campaign" button at the top right.
Click the Landing Page button.
A new page will appear with the campaign editor. Name your campaign at the top left of the editor panel. The segment tag (under Campaign Targeting) will be automatically filled in, but this can be changed later. This is where you'll configure your landing page.
Finally, add and refine products. Use the Products Toolbox on the left side of the panel to find and add the products you'd like to have on this page.
- Products Toolbox. Use the Products Toolbox on the right to find and add the products you'd like on this page manually. See Adding Products in Visual Merchandising for more information. Use the Search products box at the top of the panel to find products and filter to get a specific list of products. For example, search for "red", which will show products whose name, description, or other fields include "red". Further refine the product list by using a filter to populate only "In-Stock" availability. You can also use the Filter button to refine products without searching the catalog. For example, to build a "Gifts for her" campaign for Valentine's Day, click the Filter button to refine the categories in your product list.
- (Optional) Set Product Positions. You can refine exactly where newly added items get placed by changing the location of the cursor. See Placement Cursor in Visual Merchandising for more information.
- (Optional) Bulk Import. Import a pre-defined list of Unique IDs (UIDs) with the Bulk Add option within the Products toolbox.
- (Optional) Add a Banner. You can add rich banner content to the top of your Landing Page.
- (Optional) Schedule. If you'd like your landing page to only be available for a certain time period, you can set a custom active time & date range.
- (Optional) Use Boost Rules. You can enable dynamic placement of products using boost rules by boosting products based on the criteria you want.
- Save. Don't forget to save & publish!
Viewing & Linking to your Landing Page
After you've saved your Landing Page, it's easy to get the URL to view and link to it.
- First, find the Tag to use for your landing page. This is automatically generated by the Landing Page name, and can be found directly below the name. Go ahead and copy the tag. (Not including the "Tag: " bit)
- Switch over to your actual website.
- You'll need to take a look at the URL your site uses when you do a search. It might look something like this: www.examplesite.com/search?q=testing
- Find the parameter that includes your test search query. In the above example, it would be the q=testing bit.
- Before the equals sign, replace whatever is there with a tag. (Example: Replacing "q" with "tag")
- After the equals sign, remove your test search query and paste the tag you copied from your Landing Page, and hit Enter. You're good to go! The final link might look something like this: www.examplesite.com/search?tag=my-landing-page
Tip: Some eCommerce sites redirect to the home page when the query parameter (eg "q=", "query=", "search=") is not in the URL. If this is the case, formatting your URL similarly to the example shown below might help, modifying yours to replace the "q" section with your query parameter: www.examplesite.com/search?q=&tag=my-landing-page
