The updated Copy Campaign feature lets you duplicate an existing campaign from one site to one or more target sites. This saves time when you want to re-use the same rules, banners, pins, filters, and products across your sites without recreating them manually.
This feature works best when the following conditions are met:
- The target site must share the same language and currency as the source site.
- You must have access permissions to both the source and all target sites.
- The campaign must not have an active experiment running.
Copying a Campaign
Follow these steps to copy a campaign to one or more target sites:
-
Open the Merchandising Editor and navigate to the campaign you want to copy. Click the "Save Campaign" button at the top right to ensure any changes are saved.
-
Select the "Copy Campaign" option at the bottom of the Campaign Details toolbox.
-
Choose one or more target sites from the list; use the search function at the top left to find a specific site or sites. Only eligible sites will appear. Click the "Next" button at the bottom right to continue.
-
Click to select the campaign elements you wish to include in the campaign copy; this includes pinned and removed products, filters (if applicable), boost rules, and banners. Click the "Next" button at the bottom right to continue.
-
Review the confirmation prompt — this will inform you if any existing campaigns on the target sites will be overridden. (In the example shown below, the second site cannot be included because it has a different currency than the campaign you are copying from.)
- Click the "Submit" button at the bottom right to continue. The system will pop up a message in a black box at the bottom of the screen, indicating that the copy process has begun.
-
A results summary will appear once the process is complete, and this can be viewed in the Sync Status page. Click the "Campaign Sync" tab at the top left to see the result of the campaign copy.
The following campaign elements are copied to each target site:
| ELEMENT | EXPECTED BEHAVIOR |
| Pins | Products are matched by SKU. Ensure SKUs are consistent across sites for accurate results. |
| Rules / Boost Rules | Rules are copied as-is. If a field referenced in a rule doesn't exist on the target site, that field will be left blank. |
| Filters | Filter settings are copied. If a filter field is missing on the target site, it may be skipped. |
| Banners | Banners are copied exactly as they appear in the source campaign. |
If a campaign already exists on a target site with the same trigger as the one being copied, the system will override it. Here is how the logic works:
- If the triggers match but the name is different, you will be asked to confirm before the override proceeds.
- If the name matches but the triggers are different, no override will take place.
- If both the name and triggers match, the existing campaign will be updated.
Note: The system does not allow two campaigns to share the same trigger on the same site. You will be clearly notified before any override occurs. Once a campaign is successfully copied to a target site, it becomes fully independent. You can update it and add or remove products, pins, rules, and filters without affecting the original campaign or copies on other sites.
After the copy process completes, a summary will display the outcome for each site:
- Success = The campaign was copied successfully to the site.
- Override = An existing campaign with a matching trigger was replaced.
- Failure = The copy to that site did not complete. The error message will explain why.
Note: If one site fails, other sites that succeeded are not affected.
FAQ
Override Logic
- Triggers match, but names differ: User is prompted to confirm the override. The target campaign name will be updated.
- Name matches, but triggers differ: No override occurs.
- Both the name and triggers match: Override proceeds with user confirmation.

Known Issues / Notes |
| Pins | Matched by SKU | Inconsistent SKUs across sites may cause mismatches. Merchants should ensure SKU parity. |
| Boost Rules | Copied directly | If a field from the source doesn't exist on the target, that field is left blank — this is not an error. |
| Unpinning Conditions | Conditions transferred | Type mismatch (e.g., Numeric vs. Text) can cause the condition drop-down to appear empty in the UI. |
| Filters | Filter settings copied; missing fields can be skipped | Skippable with user permission. Missing fields are not fatal to the copy. |
| Banners | Copied exactly as-is | |
| Segments & Locations | Copied and mapped correctly | |
| Facet Ordering (Category/Filter campaigns) | Most logic mirrors Search Campaign behavior | If the facet doesn't exist on the target, it is skipped in the UI. Existing facets that do not match the source may appear disabled. |
Constraints
The function to copy a campaign is blocked when an active experiment is running on the source campaign.
Note: Merchants with inconsistent SKUs across sites may see unexpected pinning results. This is a data issue on the merchant side, not a platform bug. We recommend that you ensure there is SKU parity across sites before using the Copy Campaign function.
