You can change where your campaign is applied with the Targeting toolbox. The initial view of this toolbox shows you the list of pages where the campaign will take effect. By default, you'll have the single page that you assign when creating your campaign.
You may see an additional "Segment" tab within this toolbox. To learn more, please see Using Segments in Virtual Merchandising.
Page Contexts
Changing page context
If you want this campaign to occur on more than one page on your site, click the "+ Add Page" button at the bottom of the toolbox, or edit an existing page by clicking the edit symbol (a pencil icon) to the right of that page in the list.
While adding or editing a page, a pop-up window will appear, where you can configure the page target. A single page can include any combination of conditions: Search Queries and Filters.
To specify a query or filter for the page, simply click "Add Search Query" or "Add Filter". After selecting the query or filter, use the drop-down menu to specify the value.
Once you're done, click the "Add Page" button at the bottom right to save your changes and return to the page list, or click the "Discard" button the "X" at the top right to cancel any changes.
Tip: A page typically only requires one search query or one filter, unless you need to create a campaign that affects a very specific shopper scenario.
"Contains" Search
You can set your campaign to affect any page when a shopper's search contains a specific word.
Tip: Due to the many possible scenarios where a "contains" search can take effect, these types of campaigns are limited to boost rules and banner content only. Using "contains" means this merchandising campaign will affect any page with a shopper's search query containing your specified search terms. These types of campaigns do not allow pinning or removing individual products. To use those tools, change the search type to "is".
To utilize this option, click the edit icon to edit an existing page, or click the "+ Add Page" button to add a new query. In the pop-up window Add Page, select "Contains" from the drop-down menu on the left. (You can also switch back to a "is" search query in this way.)
Previewing
If you have more than one page set up, you'll now see all pages in the list of pages within the toolbox. The blue highlight over the page name indicates that this page is the one currently being previewed in the product grid.
Different pages will show different sets of products. You can switch between which one you're previewing by clicking on the page itself. To remove a page, click the red minus symbol at the right of a page in the list.
Complex Scenarios
Multiple pages involving categories / filters
Due to the complex nature of respecting products' inclusion in specific categories and filters, you cannot pin products when there are multiple pages involving filters on a campaign. You can, however, have multiple search pages without any restriction.
Multiple conditions for a page
Complex page scenarios for very specific situations can be set up to include more than one condition for a single page.
For example, if you want to merchandise for any customer who
- searched for "shirts" and then
- used filters on the search results page to filter by the color "red" and
- by the size "medium",
you would set up a single page to include all three of these conditions.
Tip: Remember, every single condition for the page must be met at the same time for it to take effect.
