Merchandisers now have control over which trending suggestions are curated and displayed in Autocomplete. You may manually exclude specific terms like "Christmas", which should not be suggested once the holiday is over.
Popular searches that are returned from the trending endpoint are curated based on shopper searches in the last 90 days. You have the ability to modify:
- The timeframe to use for popular searches (such as the last 60 days)
- Popular searches that you define
- Terms to exclude from suggestions
In the Athos Search & Product Discovery console, navigate to the Search Customizations menu, then choose "Autocomplete" under the Search Optimizations section.
The Autocomplete window will open and display two tabs: Custom Popular Searches and Exclude Terms.
Autocomplete Configurations
On this page, you will configure autocomplete suggestions, the timeframe for popular suggestions, and terms to exclude from your store's search experience.
Popular Search Timeframe
In this field, type a number between 1-90 to set the number of days for trending popular searches based on shopper behavior.
Custom Popular Searches tab
In the Custom Popular Searches tab, you can add suggestions to display above auto-curated popular searches. You may add up to five suggestions.
To add a search term, click the "Add Popular Search Term" button at the top right of this section. A new window will appear.
Type in a search term (which can be a phrase rather than a single word, if you prefer), then click the "Add Search Term" button at the bottom right. The window will close, and the system will display the Custom Popular Searches tab.
The search terms will be displayed to shoppers in the order shown in the table below. Drag-and-drop a search term higher or lower using the six-dot icon at the left of each search term.
Exclude Terms tab
In this tab, you will configure terms to exclude from suggestions. You can add up to 10 terms to exclude from autocomplete.
To add a term, click the "Add Exclude Term" button at the top right of the Exclude Terms section.
Once you have typed in a search term (which can be a phrase rather than a single word, if you prefer), click the "Add Exclude Term" button at the bottom right of the window. The system will close the pop-up window and return you to the Exclude Terms tab.
