Performance-based boost rules allow you to boost products specifically based on their performance over the past 30 or 60 days. You can utilize your beacon analytics data to promote items via product-level metrics such as views, clicks, and purchases.
These performance-based boost rules behave in the same way as traditional boost rules.
Performance boosts are available with your Beacon 2.0 tracking, and they are available for the following metrics:
- Views
- Clicks
- Purchases
- Conversion rates
- Trends
Note: There is no recency bias for these metrics; all products are equally weighted, so whether a product has been recently added or already existed, it has been equally accounted for in the 30/60 day calculations. We average clicks & purchases over the selected date span to keep the metrics balanced.
Add a performance boost rule
To add a performance-based boost rule, open Merchandising and then choose Campaigns from the menu. The campaign editor will display.
Click the "Boost Rules" icon to view and edit boost rules. When the Boost Rules toolbox appears, click the "Add Rule" button and select "Add Performance Rule" from the drop-down menu.
A pop-up window will appear, where you will select the desired performance metric.
Options include the following:
- Avg Clicks (30)

- Avg Purchases (60)

Note that most of the options include a choice of (30) or (60) days. Be sure to choose the correct time span.
Save your changes by clicking the "Save Campaign" button at the top right of the campaign editor.
