Once you have created a custom audience in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), you can configure the Athos console to utilize this audience.
-
Go to Data/External Authorizations to reconnect to the customers analytics account as shown below:
- Click the "Add New +" button at the top right.
-
A new window will appear:
-
Click Google Analytics and then click the "Continue" button. A new window will appear:
- Click the "Choose websites" drop-down to select which sites should be connected to Google Analytics 4. You may select multiple sites. Any selected sites will display on the form.
-
Click the "Authorize" button in the bottom right corner of the form. Once you click this button, you will need to authorize or re-authenticate to allow Athos Commerce to access the account. Select "Allow" to enable the GA4 API connection (you may see this if you are connecting for the first time).
-
Select the appropriate property for the given website. To ensure you are connecting to the correct one, please reference the Property #.
- If you connect to the incorrect property ID, please revoke access and reconnect the GA4 account using the correct Property ID.
- If the audience name is not set up correctly (name or configurations provided are wrong), you will see an error message asking you to correct those.
- If the audience has an incorrect name, you will see the following message: "Error connecting to audience due to incorrect naming convention. Please correct this to 'athos' on your analytics account to proceed"
- If the audience has incorrect configuration, you will see the following message: "We detected an incorrect audience setup; please follow this article and retry".
-
When the audience setup is correct, you will see the below screen. You should now be able to view your reports.
- Once you have successfully added your GA4 audience, navigate to the Reports section to verify you see data on:
- Dashboard - Search Performance
- Search report
- Google Analytics Insight report
- Category report (applies if those have been configured for the site)
