The following guide will explain what steps Athos Commerce takes when creating an integration for an implementation. These steps ensure that we are able to meet and exceed our client's expectations.
Kick-off Call
Your project manager will reach out to schedule a kick-off call with your team. In this call we will:
- Review the Athos integration process
- Determine the project stakeholders
- Discuss the required deliverables necessary to start your project
- Walk through the Rocketlane project portal that will be used for all communication during the implementation. All project stakeholders will be added to the portal following the kick-off call
- Answer any questions you may have about the process
Note: From time to time, the kick-off call email may accidentally be hidden in a Spam folder. If you haven't heard from us within a few days of signing up with Athos, please check this folder.
Project Dependencies
Data Access
Once you share the necessary data, a member of our Solutions team will review your data to ensure it is in a format that can be imported by Athos. Below are the methods by platform:
Shopify: Please provide your Shopify collaborator request code and .myshopify.com URL to your Project Manager. Once they have this information, they will request access to your Shopify store. You will receive an email with this request. Please accept that as soon as possible to give Athos access to your Shopify store.
Big Commerce: In order to get data connected, we'll need to get BigCommerce API credentials from you. Please follow the steps noted here and send those over at your earliest convenience. We'll also need you to add ss-auth@athoscommerce.com as a user to your BigCommerce instance. For setting the User Role, while setting us as a "System Administrator" is preferred, when defining a "Custom" User Role, we will need the following User Permissions set at a minimum:
- Sales Manager Permissions
- Manage Products
- Create Categories
- Manage Categories
- Edit Categories
- Delete Categories
- System Admin Permissions
- Store Design
- Design Mode
- Use Script Manager
- High-Risk Permissions (This section is visible to owners only)
- Edit Channels
Magento 2: We'll need the Magento 2: Feed Module installed onto the staging site and the live site so that we can connect data for the implementation.
All Other Platforms: Please provide a URL to a hosted product data feed as outlined in the following Data Sources Guide. Please leave a comment within this task with the URL.
Finalized Design
In addition to having data connected, we will need you to provide a URL to a finalized, production-ready product listing page (category or search results page). This is what the Athos Commerce team will match during the implementation.
- Please note that other search providers like Boost, Searchanise, & Fast Simon must be removed from the theme/staging environment we are matching.
- What Does "Finalized Design" Mean?
Requirements Gathering
Once we have received the necessary deliverables mentioned above, we will have a call to review and complete a requirements document. Items detailed in this document include:
- Auto-Complete Design
- Content Search
- Autocomplete
- Search Results
- Product Results
- Views
- Filters & Sort
- Badges & Callouts
- Price Displays & Call to Actions
- Other display functionality
- Personalized Recommendations (if applicable)
- Email Recommendations (if applicable)
- Predictive Product Bundling (if applicable)
Requirements Review
Once the requirements document has been completed, a member of our solutions team will review it, make any necessary call-outs and ask related follow-up questions in the Rocketlane project portal.
Implementation Process
Once all requirements have been approved by Athos, your project manager will schedule the implementation in our project queue and will reach out with the expected delivery date.
The implementation timeline varies depending on the complexity of the project, current queue, and holiday seasons. This includes:
- Matching the look and feel of your existing search and category pages (if applicable) using our JavaScript catalog
- Integrating any existing JavaScript functionality into our JavaScript catalog
- Creating an enhanced autocomplete search experience to show search suggestions, products, filters, and even merchandising as the customer types a search query
- Perform a full internal QA review, including cross-browser testing and mobile testing
- Configuring our industry-leading relevancy engine
- Creating product filtering and sorting options
Once the design is complete, it will be delivered to your team for review.
- For Shopify and BigCommerce, the Athos team will provide the name of the theme that we integrated on and a changelog that outlines the updates our team made to your code.
- For all other platforms the Athos team will provide integration instructions and a mockup. Customers should not test from a mockup. They should only test once the integration instructions have been implemented on their staging environment.
At this point, your team should conduct a thorough UAT of the design and functionality to ensure it meets all your requirements and then provide any revisions to the Athos team in the Rocketlane project portal.
Revisions
Once Athos has received a full list of revisions, we will make any changes required related to data, design or functionality within scope.
Note: If any new requirements come up during revisions that weren’t covered in the initial requirements phase, there may be an additional charge to implement them.
Training
While your revisions are being worked on, a member of our Customer Success team will reach out to schedule your initial training prior to go-live.
Go-live
Once you are happy with the state of our integration, your team should align on a go-live date to deploy Athos into your production website. Please notify your project manager once that date has been finalized so we can prepare for post-launch support. Athos recommends scheduling go-live for Monday through Thursday during our working hours.
Note: It will be the customer’s responsibility to push the integration live. The Athos team will not push the integration live from our end.
Post-Launch Support
After go-live, we will keep your project open for up to two weeks to address any issues that arise after launch.
Following that two week window we will formally close the project and provide details on where to reach out for support moving forward. From that point on, your main point of contact will be our success team. You can also open tickets with our support team here.
