We understand how crucial Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) are for your business. Our top priority is ensuring Athos Commerce operates seamlessly for you during this high-traffic period. To support you through these busy days with confidence, we’re implementing a code freeze and a publishing pause to ensure stability during this time.
What’s the Difference Between Code Freeze & Publishing Pause?
Code Freeze
During this time, Athos’s Product Engineering team will not make changes to our deployed platform, services, or core product features. This ensures that the system remains stable and reliable, with no new features or updates that could introduce unforeseen issues during your busiest sales season.
Publishing Pause
During this period, Athos’s Support, ProServ, and Implementation teams will not publish any changes to your specific site implementation, custom filters, scripts, new data integrations, or other projects in process, to ensure your site’s current setup remains stable.
Why Do We Have a Code Freeze?
Ensure Consistent Uptime
With the high traffic of BFCM, even a small amount of downtime can impact revenue. A code freeze ensures that Athos’s platform remains stable, with no unexpected updates or changes that could disrupt your site’s availability or performance.
Avoid Unintended Changes
When changes are made close to a major sales event, they have the potential to cause bugs or other issues. By pausing updates to both our platform and individual implementations, we minimize the risk of anything going wrong with your site.
Quick Troubleshooting
In the event of any issues, the code freeze simplifies troubleshooting, allowing you to focus on other areas of your tech stack without worrying about changes within Athos.
Seamless Start to the New Year
After the code freeze, we'll carefully deploy a “code thaw” with pending updates and features in a thoroughly tested and stable environment, ensuring no disruptions during the peak shopping season.
